Chantilly is a fabulous castle north of Paris. Known as the birthplace of Chantilly whipped cream and lace, it is the former residence of the Duc de Condé. The castle has a real moat and drawbridge as well as exquisite gardens designed by le Nôtre, who also designed the gardens at Versailles.
Chantilly has one of the most elaborate and renowned historical libraries - the collection of the Duc d'Aumale.
Many of its books were saved during the French Revolution. There is also a wonderful set of caricatures in one hall with fables for children.
The tour includes the park, apartments of the Duc de Condé, the horse stables and museum. The Musée Vivant du Cheval is considered one of most scenic stables in the world.
The tour ends with a horse carriage ride through the park.
